During these unprecedented times, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has increased our awareness and behaviour towards increasing health measures within our homes, workplaces and communities.
In response to this global crisis, APC Filtration has been active in product development to ensure our communities are staying safe and healthy while adapting to the growing concerns.
With the upsurge of this pandemic, there has been a significant decline in mask and ventilator supplies throughout the nation. Import regulations have become more strict in response to this shortage, leaving front-line workers and patients in health care facilities exceptionally vulnerable to the novel coronavirus. In addition, many people have been relying on these supplies as key preventive measures in their daily activities and essential businesses. Due to a call from the federal government, APC Filtration understands the timely importance of protecting our communities by producing these vital materials in Canada.
With over 35 years in the air filter industry, APC Filtration is devoted to increasing supplies, and investing in product innovation to respond to these growing demands. In collaboration with several research leaders such as McMaster, Ryerson, Woodbridge Group and private manufacturers, APC Filtration is tackling this critical shortage by producing a variety of face masks, and ventilator filters that will help protect residential and commercial spaces with quality air. In efforts with Mcmaster Engineers helping frontline workers , APC has provided in-house pressure drop and aerosol rejection testing for L3 surgical and N95 masks. In addition, APC has developed a new filter media for mask production, which samples will be ready for ASTM testing on April 17th.
